Monday, September 30, 2019 - Had this during our Tuscany trip with friends 9/28 to 10/5 to Villa Montepulciano. We tasted this at the Enoteca La Fortezza Di Montalcino. Line-up included Brunello's from 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011 2010. The 2015 was tasted but will not be released to us till next year.

Here we were treated to a bonus from Irald our server.

The 2016 Sassicaia is stunning, and for not the price, I would have purchased. The most powerful wine in the lineup but not the favorite.
Tremendous layers on the palette as the fruits take turns with the earth in the aroma category. More layers of flavors on the palette with a tannin laden backbone which gives this the structure of some of the greatest Italian wines ever produced. Reminds me of 2015 with even more structure.

It should place this wine squarely in line for one of the Wine of the year awards.
