Thursday, May 5, 2022 - This was an interesting Burgundy filled with contrast! It was both smooth and acidic at the same time...a unique experience for me. This was, IMO, a much more intellectual wine that you enjoyed while trying to piece together the puzzle.
Nose: Lemon, seashell and stone fruit dominated with hints of white flower and flint
Palate: Showed a contrast of smoothness and acidity that is hard to accurately describe. Pear, tart apple, oyster shell and flint, but then turning to tropical fruit and citrus, with quite a bit of minerality.
This wine was a delight to drink, and really was a unique experience, although the 2016 Roulot alongside was more in my wheelhouse as far as flavor profile. 92 points for uniqueness and pleasure!
