Tuesday, January 31, 2023 - {Tasted with TS, EB, AM blind} Translucent red, touch animale to start, balance initially no perfect in nose, some volatile elements that blew off in 5-10 minutes. I initially guessed an older Gevrey and was blown away when told the wine was 45 years old. In a few minutes became very floral, gorgeous, smooth, no intrusive acids or tannins. Resolved. Pure, spherical, rose-petals, very pinote. Elegant and beautiful. Rated 93-94.

Open for 2 1/2 hours. Only faded a little bit by end. Nothing brown or funky or mushroomy in this bottle. Magic.

(mistakenly first uploaded to 1979, not 1978, my apologies)
