Likes this wine:

Monday, March 20, 2023 - Never had a Coteaux Champenois red before so I was curious to try. I found this quite pleasant really. Nose was classic pinot with red fruits, leaning more toward strawberry and cranbery along with some floral notes. Maybe just a hint of some herbal, slightly green notes, but for me enough to add interest and not be off putting. The palate was fresh and borderline tart with high acidity, but again for my personal taste not in a bad way. Absolutely a wine that needs food, but the pleasant nose and lighter body can be a nice alternative. Served with salmon and risotto and it paired quite nicely. I don't really see much upside to cellaring this, better to drink while the fruit is fresh. But on a warm day or with the right food this can definitely be a winner.
