Thursday, July 9, 2015 - blind tasting of 17 different kind of wines all over the world
For me the WOTN toghether with Shafer Hillside select 1995 Magnum
much better than 2 years ago where the bottle was really closed. Now you have decent fruit of cassis, red and dark berries, the palate is filled with some earth, pencil, cedar wood, ripe and present tannins, alcohol well integrated, crispy acidity making this wine still young, for me very drinkable over the next ten years, 97-98

7/9/2015 5:27:00 AM - Thanks for the note and comment. Wow, 17 different wines!!! Sounds like tough work ;-) . Shafer 1995? Very cool. We have one bottle of the 1996 Mouton and are pleased to know another 5 to 10 years will be good...on-going debate as to when we should open!

7/9/2015 6:54:00 AM - There is no hurry, I think, because compared to 2 years before the bottle is opening again, so we will have a lot of fun over the next year. The 1995 Shafer Hillside from Mg was for many the wine of the night with 99+.Also a lot of potential. Some compared him with a young Lafite. I don't have so much experience with young Lafites... best wishes
