Sunday, December 1, 2019 - Private Preserve after Day 1; Slightly chilled both days; (The winery recommends a 55 °F serving temp!)

88% Grenache & 12% Mourvèdre obtained from the Rancho Solo (39%), Alta Loma (34%), Ventana (15%), & Del Barba (12%) Vyds, the 1st 3 being cool climate Monterery sources of the Grenache, & the last being the Contra Costa source of the Mourvèdre; 13.6% ABV, 5.5 g/L T..A., & 3.72 pH; 2,425 cases

N: CLOSED; Red rasps, straws, with flowers underneath

P: LM body; NICE, almost swtish frt met by a bit of astringent pucker which QUITE resolves by the LONG, BALANCED, TANGY/swt (60:40) finish with NOTHING out of place. Stylistically, EASILY *could* have been ambushed by the night's Homemade Beef Chili with Beans, but wasn't 'cuz of its balance & acidity. Drink now & through '20, POSS longer. // Day 2: Showed VERY well aromatically, < so on the P, though @ LEAST adequately. Went well with Breaded Grilled Tilapia, TJ's Rice Risotto, & [surprisingly, to me @ least] Baked (Ltly Swtnd) Acorn Squash! Look to drink any remaining bottles over the next 12-15 mos. ∑: My EXC-/EXC, arguably the higher based upon the QPR of the $11.99 pd for it! 92 pts WE @ $20, 90 Vinous (Raynolds), & 1* ("Good Value") Connoisseurs' Guide. [As of early Dec '19, wine-searcher still shows numerous U.S. sources from $14-$20.55.]
