Saturday, June 10, 2017 - Dinner at Home (Fremont, CA): From a 375, decanted 1 hour. Surprisingly light translucent color with some bricking; nose is moderately aromatic, red fruit, berries, some heat; palate is full bodied, medium sweetness, simple red fruits that fade through the midpalate, high alcohol but reasonably balanced (just a tad hot), medium acidity; short-medium finish. At maturity, this lacks the complexity and concentration of a top tier port. Nevertheless, this is enjoyable and a good port. Drink within the next few years. 86
