Wednesday, February 2, 2022 - NobleRottersSydney - blind 17 Chard & 14 Shiraz (Fix, St James, Sydney): {cork?, 12.5%} Translucent in hue beside the previous wines. Less oaky. Clean nose, pure sandstone, minerals, with a hint of honey. Light/medium body, dry, still with sweet fruit, a bit earthy in texture. Medium length finish that just fades a little. Tidy, not that exciting. Not sure cellaring will help much. Definitely French (non-screwcap a big hint!); I stupidly guessed Mersault; maybe ill-considered in light of the minimal oak? Votes: two x 2nd (Glenn, Adrian)

2/11/2022 8:41:00 PM - so tired of these "comparisons"
why doesn't someone in your group get off their lazy arse and instead of walking down to their local bottlo and buying over-priced cheap crap coming out of France sold for a ridiculous amount, and instead go to one of the numerous direct-import sellers in Australia (yes, indeed, there are now many of these!!!) and buy high quality Villages from Meursault, Puligny or Chassagne that can easily be had for cheaper than the price range you mention and would beat the pants of those boring, pedestrian Aussie chards.
And please don't ask me about them, google is what you are after. :)
