Sunday, December 10, 2023 - From magnum, with the score based on its taste today despite its immense potential. This was a monster of a wine today, still nowhere close to shedding its tannins. Strong acidity alongside bold intense red fruit and also carrying the signature tar and roses. Probably took a hit being served alongside '09 red burgundy as that only accentuated the harsh structure which simply needs time to resolve. I don't see this wine being ready for at least another 5+ years, but when it does this will be a complete beauty as everything is there. 94-96 potential.
