90 Points

Thursday, May 12, 2011 - Terrific, and wow, for whatever reason (was it the deeply discounted price) unexpectedly so. Dusty, earthy, dark cherry yes. Also some appealing bitterness on the palate; and herbal - menthol maybe? - on the nose. I lack the background to evaluate oakville72's Burgundy comparison; but it registers as "serious". IMO a fine CA pinot at the $40 list price, and simply redonkulous at $13ish. Just down the road from its QPR neighbor, the Berserkerday Hein Syrah; and all the way across town from Domaine de Monts Luisants "Les Monts Luisants".
