So, blackberry, raspberry jam, milk chocolate, hint of vanilla oak. Voluptuous sort of palate, with lowish acidity, medium finely gritty tannins, but quite a hole in the mid palate; the very definition of it: sweet fruit on the tip of the tongue, gentle astringency on the back palate and little in between. Despite the alcohol, doesn't seem too hot on the medium length finish. Crowd-pleasing full-bodied style with lots going for it, but not worth cellaring past its decade in my view.
