Sunday, April 11, 2021 - I have yet to find a Pinot Noir under $30 that makes me think cheaper versions of this grape are worth it. It’s good for the price, but it still tastes like cheap wine. Lots of ripe cherry and strawberry fruit here, which is impressive, and this tastes like Oregon Pinot, which is, again, a good thing, but the flavors are muddled together, the alcohol is out of balance, and the finish is a bit sharp. I get some some subtle flavors of violet and wet earth, but it’s all overpowered by that cheap tar-like flavor typical of wines at this price point. It should compete well with other $20 entry level Pinot Noirs from Oregon, but don’t expect more.
