Thursday, October 25, 2018 - Taste North Canterbury 2018 (Christchurch, New Zealand): This is a lovely North Canterbury Syrah, from one of the very few Syrah vineyards south of Martinborough. Reminiscent of a Côte-Rôtie, nose is full of violets, blackberries and peppery spices. Palate is soft velvety blackberries and boysenberries, tannins finely balanced, a little white pepper and a long minty chocolate finish. Absolutely smashing, we bought a case because life is short.
