2016 Lariana Cellars Carménère

Community Tasting Note

88 Points

Monday, April 1, 2024 - Unfortunately, the half bottle I left overnight after air evacuation, did not survive very well. So, drink within a few hours of opening. Initially, high levels of taking were evident with coconut being prevelent on the palate accompanied by lesser amounts of strawberry. The second day experience was that of low fruit not offsetting the tannin and acidity. Not a great experience. My 88 was based on the first day experience.

Glad you made it thru that experience. Let's hope we have a better season this year, right?

4/2/2024 6:14:00 AM - I wish I could edit that note and correct the use of "taking". I don't even know what I was trying to say there.
As to the better season this year, if you are referring to Okanagan wineries, I can report the situation here is truly dire. So much so that several wine makers have been laid off and there are a lot of wineries for sale at what would have been fire sale prices a few years ago. I guess there is always hope though. Cheers.
