Wednesday, March 22, 2023 - A private lunch (Ristorante Piazza Duomo ***, Alba, Italy): Bottle No. 9,054 / 13,333. Wonderful depth and richness, meaty and earthy, spicy, forest floor, floral lift, hint of cocoa, minerally elegance, well managed velvety tannins, orange zest on the enveloping finish, hint of grappa. Long life. Not as refined as the 2016 tasted the day after.
