Friday, August 1, 2008 - A core of medium ruby, with red-brown border just inside the watery edge - several prominent transitions. The nose was classic Barolo: red violets, exotic spices, morels and rich leather. On the palate, it was medium-bodied with a 30 second finish. Nothing spectacular, just an elegant Barolo that is definitely not going to get better with more bottle age. Decanted 90 minutes and enjoyed throughout the evening. A bottle approximately 1/3 its cost (this was approximately $125) was the crowd favourite among 12 wines that evening.
