Saturday, November 24, 2018 - Nose: Initial scent of ripe cherries, and a slight sort of wood like hay/straw or some grass (thank goodness not in a bad way).. there are scents of herbal leaves, almost like tea leaves.

Palate: An initial heat, dark red fruit, some deep earth/soil notes, cigar wrapping (not so much the tobacco itself), bitter tannins and a slight spice to its finish.

Dark ruby with transparency. Dry with soft, supple tannins. Medium-minus body. A variable finish.. the fruit fades quick within about 2-3 seconds and it continues to finish minerally, slightly oaky and bitter. The fruit is there but it doesn't appear that it's the center of attention here but still nice complexity. Smooth and approachable.. the heat kinda stays on the palate after the finish though. Maybe a long decant might help it (maybe like two hours).
