Tuesday, December 15, 2020 - Nose: The nose is fragrant, deep and with a savory richness filled with plums, hoisin sauce, licorice, black cherries, black raspberries, white pepper, dust, violets, asian spices, potpourri, and liqueur tones. The nose really wakes up and blossoms after a few hours in the decanter.
Taste: The feel is full bodied with medium acidity and chewy, medium+ tannins. There is excellent depth with plums, black cherries, black raspberries, licorice, white pepper, dust, asian spices, violets, and potpurri that really blossoms on the finish.
Overall: While this can certainly use another 5+ years of aging, it's really delicious and giving right now with a good amount of air. This doesn't attempt to be a subtle Chateauneuf but there is an elegance backed up with a good amount of richness and balance.
