Tuesday, November 14, 2023 - Decanted one hour before service. In the glass, dark saturated purple. On the nose, dried currants and potpourri. On the palate, equal parts currants, blueberries, and a grapey note reminiscent of Welch's grape juice - a fruit bomb note, to be sure, and not in a good way. The midpalate shows youthful structure, followed by assertive tannins on the finish. Given the Beckstoffer pedigree, not at all what I expected; I hope this is just an awkward phase.
