90 Points

Wednesday, January 2, 2019 - Circa late 1970s. Screwcap. Outside of the bottle is sticky: I thought it might have leaked, but the seal seems intact, and the wine seems to be in good condition for its age. Pours cloudy, with a dull brownish-red colour.

Nose and palate show mild flavours of olorosso, red apple, and raisin. Mouthfeel is light-bodied, syrupy, and pleasantly sweet, with moderate acidity and alcohol. Surprisingly, the wine was a little better on the second night, with stronger acid and tannin: strong, dry, and pleasantly tart.
