Monday, December 12, 2011 - Was planning on holding onto this longer but I just couldn't stay away. On a cold, rainy autumn morning I had a craving for nebbiolo and this jumped out of the cellar at me. A decent amount of rim variation, starting at garnet and continuing to a red brick color. Herbal, soy, some funk, tea leaves, strawberry nose. Actually smells like thanksgiving morning with a turkey with herbed stuffing and a berry pie in the oven. Flavors carry to the palate with a distinctly soy , herb finish. Considerable but fine grained tannins. Opened with brunch on my day off and paired extremely well with egg scramble topped with peppered bacon and shaved aged gouda. I am loving this. Lets see how this fares with gnocci in red sauce for dinner tonight.
