Monday, August 3, 2020 - A blend of 98% Sémillon and 2% Muscat d'Alexandrie. Old bush vines (the oldest from 1902) on alluvial soils. Pressed with the stems, spontaneous fermentation and 14 month maturation in 90% new French oak and 10% concrete eggs. Non malo, 13.5% ABV, a relatively small production of 10,000 bottles. Pale lemon colour. This is quite a powerhouse - they don't do subtle here. Lots of toasty and spicy oak, ripe but not tropical fruit (lemon, orange, melon), concentrated and creamy palate with lovely balancing fresnhess (TA 5 gr/l), rich but dry (RS 2.3 gr/l), vanilla on the finish. At restaurant Neni, Amsterdam, NL.
