Wednesday, September 30, 2020 - Tasted blind. Med (+) ruby with a garnet rim. Med (+) aromas of ripe black fruit, stems, wild savory herbs, earth and subtle baking spice. Dry, with med to med (+) acidity, med (+), fine-grained tannins and high alcohol. Med (+) body, flavor intensity and length, with a slight bitter licorice note on the finish. Still early in its drinking window, this should improve with further aging.

Pretty clearly Old World and moderate climate, but hard to peg whether it is Syrah or Grenache. In fact, it is a blend of 74% Grenache and 26% Syrah, so I don't feel so bad calling it a N. Rhone Syrah.
