Monday, January 28, 2008 - Dark burgundy center with light red rim. The explosive nose begins with an earthy note but quickly changes to pomegranite, sasafrass, and chocolate. Once in the mouth, red and black fruits such as raspberry and pomegranite coat the palate with chocolate highlights that ease into tart cherry and orange peel. This wine is all about balance. It is full flavored without being heavy, and the well rounded tannins on the long finish bode will for aging. Overall, this reminds me of Kosta Browne Sonoma Coast without the hedonistic ripeness of the KB. 14.2% alcohol.
