Tuesday, May 13, 2008 - Cranberry in color and perfumed nose of dark cherry, mint and licorice. On the palate a complex blend of blueberry pie, cinnamon, cloves, slightly under ripe bing cherries, earth, vanilla/oak and juicy acidity. Velvety mouth feel and well balanced, although the oak and alcohol are a bit noticeable on the finish. Overall, very impressive. Good length, and drinking well now. Definitely has that delicious factor. My first Kosta Browne, and I can see what all the fuss is about. The wine was so interesting, I had trouble trying to figure out a suitable food pairing. Grilled skirt steak was NOT the answer, and not the fault of the wine.
