Winery: Ridge
Varietal: 68% Zinfandel, 20% Carignane, 10% Petite Sirah,
2% Alicante Bouschet
Area/Appellation: Cal., Sonoma County, Alexander Valley, Geyserville. Vintage: 2018
Price: $50/Auburn Spirits West Kansas
Color: Dark purple, rich dark ruby on the sides. Legs: slow
Nose: raspberries, blackberry jam, blueberries, plum, sage, vanilla,
Palate: rich and fruit driven with raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, oak,
Finish: silky smooth, fairly balanced, rich and deep,
Comments: This a Geyserville that is soo user/food friendly. It has everything. Rich nose, voluptuous texture, beautiful fruit, integrated balance. The finish is, however, just a tad bit short, like others in CT have stated. Which keeps it out of the 92-94 range. Maybe in 2-4 years.
Pairing Suggestions: When Pigs Fly BBQ, Rich meats with spicy sauces, pork tenderloin,
Score in terms of Vintage: 90
Score for the Wine: 91.9-92
Value for the Money: Excellent
Date Tasted: 11/28/2020
