Tuesday, January 12, 2021 - Drank with no decant over the course of the night. Initially the nose was marked by overpowering earthy and animal notes with a slightly muted palate. Eventually the animal mellowed and the nose/palate showed borderline ripe. Sweet red fruit, blueberry, dusty earth, gamey grilled meat (lamb?), and mineral. Certainly drinkable now but needs some time to open. Overall good for the price but not my favorite. Not sure how much this improves with time but my hope is the animal not dissipates.
