2018 Ridge Geyserville

Community Tasting Note

Likes this wine:

Saturday, July 10, 2021 - About 10 years into learning about wine, I've realized there are some varietals I'd be okay with a one-and-done example. This qualifies as my preferred zin, and if it were the only kind in my cellar I'd be cool with that - I was introduced to the varietal via Turley, and wasn't fond of that bigger style - this is also thunderous and bold, as the kids say (don't they?), but it's got structure to it and enough length to make it interesting. I really like Bedrock and Carlisle too, but this noses those out . Speaking of which, great nose, too. Need I mention how well it went with our Rao-based pasta sauce? Yes I do.
