Tuesday, August 23, 2022 - One Year Anniversary CLT Tasting Group (82 Giacosa, 86 Las Casas, 91 Heitz Matha's & More) (Charlotte, NC): 2 hour slo-ox prior to serving. Rich nose of red plums and earthines. On the palate decidedly Bordeaux in blending but New World in expression – vibrant black cherries and cassis with a gentle dusting of graphite. Velvet mouthfeel of fully resolved tannins make this a joy to drink. Another savory finish to close the night. A truly tasty wine this evening, I have to think given more air this wine gains greater complexity and would display more nuance hidden underneath some of those vibrant flavors. A great wine regardless.
