Wednesday, August 23, 2023 - Was accessible about 20-min after opening; did not need to decant. Paired nicely with Oaxaca-spice rubbed grilled pork loin. Dark, inky purple color with a ruby hue. Nose brings spring violets, lavender, potpourri, black tar, and whiffs of bitter cherries. The palate is medium, square, and compact, bringing a nice core of tangy blueberry and plum intermixed with tart huckleberries, rhubarb, BBQ pit, black olives, and white pepper into a refined finish. Not super complex but solidly balanced and quaffable - which is why we love this producer. Drink 2023-2030. Technical score: 91. Enjoyment score: 93.
