Tuesday, July 5, 2016 - Half bottle. Uncommonly saturated for Pinot. A bit of funk and a whiff of surmaturité. Sweet, creamy oak is deceptive since the mid-palate is not that concentrated. Black cherry, blueberry, and wood spice give the sense of a very modern wine, but there is a lot of soil on the back end to close things out. Unfortunately, there is also a ton of astringent oak which dries and shortens the finish. A strange, disjointed wine that I don't think time will help.
