Saturday, May 29, 2021 - 375ml. Opened five hours prior to tasting. Opaque, medium purple fading to a medium ruby outer edge. Black pepper, grilled green peppers, fresh violets, dark chocolate, black cherry, and red plum skin all reveal themselves on a slightly surprising nose that’s far less fruit forward than I expected from a 73% Zinfandel dominant blend, which is pleasing to see. The palate - counter to the nose - is packed with ripe black fruit coated in milk chocolate and rolled in sweet baking spices.
