Saturday, June 18, 2022 - I've never had a Nickel & Nickel before. This was a good bottle of wine. Better on night 2. Very primary. But drinks nice, not a fruit or alcohol bomb.

Medium to dark purple. Nose has perfumed floral aromatics, brown sugar and blueberry compote, fresh cut sawdust, some sweet dark berries, trace of heat in the back of the nostrils. Almost full bodied, powerful core of inky and ripe dark berry fruit.

More knit together after 2 hours of air; more tobacco and earth in nose; settles down into something beyond the wild teenager it showed on the PnP. Nice bottle of big and robust, but not anywhere near over the top, CA Cab.
