Monday, November 8, 2021 - Opened the last bottle in the cellar at Berns, decanted 30 minutes before initial taste. Initial aromas of leather and a touch of oak unfolded over time to blackberry, other fruits, and a moderate hint of floral. Refined attack on the palate that was gentle, with a medium body and silky texture. A medium finish and very light tannins; almost no hint of pepper. It was lovely to unfold over the coure of an hour and pair with Chateaubriand. I did feel it was enhanced when there was a bit of steak in the mouth already - then the wine really became alive.
