A: Pale ruby
N: Medium (+) nose of Violet. Liquorice, red cherry, cherry tomato, cranberry, clove, nutmeg, dried herbs, earth and I thought that I got VA at the end
P: Dry, medium (+) acid, medium (+) tannin, medium (+) intensity and finish medium (+) alcohol and body
Guesses;
Italian - sangiovese - Chianti
Misses:

New Zealand PINOT NOIR is very chalky, higher herbal load than other new world pinots andmore moderate alcohol. Perhaps the VA was mistaken but I really think it was there.
