Sunday, September 28, 2008 - Deep garnet color. Very earthy nose - maybe some pencil lead - but you could smell the alcohol. Taste - Grapey, moderately strong tannins (more than I like, but about average for a Merlot in my recent, limited experience), and a little too much heat. Nice finish, though nothing special. Overall a decent Merlot. (4/5+10/15+16/20+6/10)
