Wednesday, October 11, 2023 - Opened and decanted 30-min ahead of mixed grill leftovers and potatoes. Dark purple color. Nose brings fresh potpourri, purple violets, grape compote, forest floor, campfire, and a metallic mineral note. The palate is medium, square, and compact, bringing a hard core of blueberries, plums, and blackberries accentuated by red cherries and raspberries, concluding with black tea, beef stew, green pepper, and crushed gravel into a tannic finish. This has loads of potential but is still primary even after 3+hours in the decanter. Drink 2025-2035. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 90.
