Friday, March 10, 2023 - Joyce Farms vs. Green Circle (Chicago, IL): This still feels young, especially in context with the older Volnays on the table tonight. It's more leathery and has a far more significant tannic backbone. Nevertheless, the fruit profile here is still quite clear, but it doesn't reach the delineated heights of the 1989 tonight. A wine that will certainly be much more interesting with time -- but I'm not sure that a mere 9 years will age this to the same point as that lovely 1989.
