Saturday, July 22, 2023 - From magnum, which probably matters a lot. This was a hot vintage everywhere, but you wouldn’t really know that from this bottle except that it drinks forward right now. Light color and body backed up by firm acids and fine tannins that are evident but not distracting. Sweet red fruit with rose petal, black tea and light menthol. Some meaty notes. We will save some of this for tomorrow and it will be interesting to see what happens. But I love this tonight. There is no real evidence that this is a huge heat wave year. Bravo.
