I’m not sure exactly what character that lends the wine, but it seems to have added some layers of extra complexity and interest. Picked and barreled well before the tragic and historical October fires that actually nearly engulfed the vineyard at the top of Mt Veeder, but which was happily not a factor in the wine. A sensational vintage of Lagier Meredith Syrah.
