Friday, March 26, 2021 - Bought almost 7 years ago from a private cellar (who had purchased from the vintner). This one was a bit weird at first but always had a great nose. After a flinty and metallic finish, this one settled down. First notes were a little "metallic" with a little disjointed acidity. But after 2 hours this one changed. Blackberry backbone. Black licorice. Incredibly youthful at 21 years of age. Full throttle black fruit, brambly, hint of vanilla. Wow. Finished without being awkward... Very weird and wonky front turned into a balanced and complex wine with a very nice finish. Perfect for 21 years!
