96 Points

Saturday, June 7, 2008 - Pop and pour and consumed over the course of our 4 hour meal. Aromatic nose of ripe apricot and peach, honey, caramel, and a touch of oak with delicate floral notes interwoven through out. Huge, intense, concentrated wine on the palate -- this creamy wine delivers loads of clean, pure fruit and floral flavors well balanced by crisp acidity, and a subtle minerality. Finishes long but with a noticeable oak bitterness. To my and my wife's palates (at least at this point 10+ years before maturity!) this wine seemed very much fruit driven -- not at all reticent -- and only hinting at the elegance and refinement I suspect it will gain in 10 years time.
