Thursday, March 18, 2021 - 45 minute decant,
Rich, deep purple color. Candied grape and roast meat nose. Big palate, chewy and jammy-ish, but not over the top. Actually, silky smooth on the back end: Black pepper spice, green bell pepper, and a touch of rosemary and thyme. Reminiscent of the garrigue notes one would find in a southern Rhône , even though a Syrah like this shoukd conjure up memories of an Hermitage or Cornas.
All in all, a good effort. Nicely aged, savory and delicious.
