89 Points

Wednesday, December 22, 2021 - Drank alongside two other Pommard-Rugiens, a '98 Girardin and '95 Boillot, this was my least favorite of the trio. Ripe, almost raisiny nose, aromatically this speaks very little of pinot noir to me. Ripe kirsch flavors, this is a big wine, but with lively acidity and a rather rugged tannic finish. Made in a more modern style, it is still quite youthful and likely needs a lot more time to show its best.
