Sunday, February 9, 2020 - I don't know if it's just my imagination working, but this wine seems to have a lot of that fragrant roundness combined with crispness and saline backbone found in good Anjou and Touraine chenin. The name Chidaine helps to suggest that and altitude of c.1000 metres undoubtedly helps to offset the heat of Murcia. As well as that there are honeyed notes and a sprinkling of herbs which recall that one is near the Mediterranean and is drinking from one of its best grapes. Good with scallops in cider enhanced beurre blanc and goat cheeses. Very good.
