Friday, June 12, 2009 - Lighter in color than the other cabs at the tasting (2005 ZD, 2005 Larkmead). Straight out of the gate this wine had a beautifully strong cherry and red fruit nose with hints of oak. The palate was supple, smooth, with slight tannins. Overall it was the more nimbler red fruit driven cab of the 3. I did not get a chance to see how this wine progressed over several hours due to the tasting format. IMO this wine is drinking well right now.
