Tuesday, April 3, 2018 - WOTN at an expansive tasting. Drinking this, I thought I heard Katy Perry singing "Firework" as the wine just exploded on the palate. Beautiful stuff by the master at his prime. While I love many barolo makers, Bruno Giacosa stands out as my favorite for the combination power and elegance. Tonight just confirmed that for me. In terms of value, I do like these Rocche wines from years when there was no red label reserve. They drink a little earlier and are a bit less overpowering. My idea of a good time.
