Definitely still big, fleshy and dominated by dark fruit, it's noticably more subdued, less flashy. While I tend more towards old world syrah and drink very little Oz shiraz, I found myself prefering the young version of this wine. What little it gained over time (integration, mellower finish) pales in comparison to the loss of verve and explosive aromatics of the younger bottle. Liked 'em both, to my surprise strongly favored the bottle 6 yrs ago.
