Sunday, February 19, 2023 - Only Old Chaps Meeting By the Sea; 2/17/2023-2/19/2023 (Alicante - España): Bottle opened two hours in advance and shared with friends for a Sunday lunch. This is a Tannat cuveé with 35% of Merlot and 20% of Tempranillo. On the nose notes of blue flowers, sweet spices and herbal touches, such as grass and hay stand out. Direct and not very complex. Aged 90% in new oak, on the palate it is elegant and refined, somewhat heavy but balanced despite its youth, with a cleansing acidity and a tannic finish. Clearly needed much more time in bottle if you have in mind that recent tasting of the bottle of 2003 Château Montus CP. However not bad at all.
Botella abierta con dos horas de antelación y compartida con amigos para un almuerzo de domingo. Un cuveé de Tannat con un 35% de Merlot y un 20% de Tempranillo. En nariz destacan las notas de flores azules, de las especias dulces y los toques herbáceos, como de césped y heno. Directo y no muy complejo. Envejecido en un 90% en roble nuevo, al paladar es elegante y refinado, un tanto pesado aunque equilibrado pese a su juventud, con una acidez limpiadora y un final tánico. Claramente necesitado de mucho más tiempo en botella si tienes en mente la reciente degustación de la botella de 2003 Château Montus CP. De todos modos, no mal del todo.
