90 Points

Friday, May 1, 2009 - Light gold. medium viscosity. Nose of apricot, musk melon, lovely minerals, wet stones. Occasional whiffs of something almost like riesling petrol. After a while a touch of floral and nutmeg emerged. Rather creamy, lush mouthfeel. A slight tartness, maybe more from wood than acid. Rather long finish with a bit too much bite, but altogether quite an impressive wine for the appellation and price. Had with a sesame and poppy seed encrusted halibut and haricot verts at home. Works well with food or alone.
